New Releases and Recommendations for July 29

Start your weekend off right. Check out these new releases from Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle and Amazon Instant Video. And as always, if you have a suggestion on the perfect lazy Sunday flick, please post ‘em in the comments.

Netflix New Releases:

  • Mad Men: Season 1- See how it all started with this clever Emmy-winning series set in the ad world of the 60’s (2007)
  • The Terminator- The classic tale of  a murderous cyborg assassin from the future. I’ll be back! (1984)
  •  Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired- Telling documentary on the life and events of director Roman Polanski (2008)

Hulu Plus New Releases:

  • Family Guy: Episode VI: It’s a Trap- The final episode in the Family Guy remake of Star Wars (2011)
  • Rookie Blue- A new drama with a twist of danger that follows the lives of five young and ambitious cops right out of the Academy (2011)
  • Switched at Birth- Sixteen years ago, one mistake changed two families forever when two newborns were switched at birth (2011)

Crackle New Releases:

  • Starman- An alien from an advanced civilization abducts a young widow to help him travel cross-country in order to rendezvous with his spaceship (1984)
  • 1941- Spielberg directs this bizarre disaster comedy. Think “Animal House” with artillery (1993)
  • Maximum Risk- Fans of Jean-Claude Van Damme: Behold the man, the myth, the legend at the top of his action hero game (1996)

Amazon Instant Video New Releases:

  • Cave of Forgotten Dreams- Journey to Chauvet Cave in France for the most ancient art created by man (2011)
  • Limitless- An unsuccessful writer’s life is transformed by a top-secret “smart drug” that allows him to become a perfect version of himself (2011)
  • Take Me Home Tonight- Recent college grads enjoy their last Labor Day weekend before they start in the real world (2011)
