New Releases and Recommendations Sept. 30

Tonight is movie night! Here are some of the best picks for flicks across Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle and Amazon Instant Video.  As always, if you have a suggestion on the perfect lazy Sunday flick, please post ‘em in the comments.

Netflix New Releases:

  • Breaking Bad- Emmy winner Bryan Cranston leads an all-star cast in the epic series that is Breaking Bad  (2008)
  • The Perfect Host- A first-time thriller from Nick Tomnay, stars David Hyde Pierce, Nathaniel Parker and Clayne Crawford (2010)
  • The Blues Brothers- Accept no substitutes.  Jon Belushi and Dan Aykroyd lay waste to Chicago in this classic comedy from Jon Landis (1980)

Hulu Plus New Releases:

  • Whitney- NBC’s new comedy starring stand-up comedian Whitney Cummings (2011)
  • New Girl- Catch the latest episode of Fox’s not-so-ordinary comedy starring Zooey Deschanel (2011)
  • Glee- Missed this week’s Glee?  Hulu has you covered with the latest episode from Fox’s runway hit (2011)

Crackle New Releases:

  • A Few Good Men- Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise and Demi Moore fire on all cylinders in one of the AFI’s 10 Greatest Courtroom Dramas  (1992)
  • Why It Crackles-Interviews with Jonah Hill, Chris Pratt, and Bennett Miller about the making of Moneyball (2011)
  • The Mothman PropheciesRichard Gere and Laura Linney lead an eminently smart, subtle and terrifying small-town chiller not easily forgotten (2002)

Amazon Instant Video New Releases:

  • Transformers: Dark of the Moon- The third installment in the Transformers series pits Autobot against Decipticon once again (2011)
  • The River Murders- Ray Liotta, Christian Slater and Ving Rhames star in this edgy detective thriller (2011)
  • The Tempest- Helen Mirren brings Shakespeare’s epic play to life in this Oscar nominated film (2010)
