New Releases and Recommendations for Nov. 4

Old Man Winter might finally be upon us, making this the perfect season to stream. Here are some fav. flicks and new releases from our top channels.  As always, if you have a suggestion on the perfect lazy Sunday flick, please post ‘em in the comments. Happy streaming!

Netflix New Releases:

  • Gnomeo and Juliet- This Shakespeare adaptation is like no other, unless you have seen garden gnomes play star-crossed lovers before…have you? (2011)
  • Red State- Kevin Smith puts a unique spin on the horror genre in this tale of hormonal urges gone awry (2011)
  • The Shrine- Director Jon Knautz also penned the story to this psychological thriller that throws travelers into hellishly inhospitable conditions (2010)

Hulu Plus New Releases:

  • Parks and Recreation- A cult claims the end of the world is nigh, while Leslie has to face a harsh truth about her relationship with Ben (2011)
  • Gaiam Yoga: Awaken- Celebrated yoga teacher Gurmukh guides you through an invigorating self-paced yoga practice to awaken your spirit (2011)
  • Titanica- Along with spectacular high-quality underwater photography, ”Titanica” includes interviews with two Titanic survivors (1995)

Crackle New Releases:

  • Tekkonkinkreet- A captivating manga-based story that flawlessly weds old-school hand-drawn animation with cutting-edge CG (2006)
  • Awakenings- Robert De Niro delivers one of his subtlest signature performances in a memorably moving true-story triple hanky weeper (1990)
  • Short Circuit 2- Sure the first one is Steve Guttenberg-riffic but watch closely and be surprised at the strength of this cybernetic sequel (1988)

Amazon Instant Video New Releases:

  • Cars 2- Disney and Pixar are back with this cute, animated, laugh-out-loud adventure (2011)
  • Crazy, Stupid, Love- Cal Weaver has the perfect life…until his wife Emily asks for a divorce. Now Cal has to navigate the single scene, but his heart keeps leading him back to where he began (2011)
  • Beginners- Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer and Mélanie Laurent star in this uplifting comedy about a father’s confession and how it inspires his son to open himself up to a true relationship (2011)
