Top 10 new releases and recommendations

Fall means pumpkin-spiced everything and lots to watch on TV. This week, fall premieres are in full swing again with new TV episodes – and even a just-launched original series from Crackle.

  • Cleaners – In Crackle’s newest original series, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Emily Osment play a pair of hit-women who are on the run after they find an unexpected surprise in the trunk of their car.   • The Mentalist: The Desert Rose – After Patrick (played by Simon Baker from The Devil Wears Prada & LA Confidential) discovers that Red John already knows about his list of seven suspects, his dangerous actions during a murder investigation get him and Lisbon banished to the sticks.   • Revenge: Destiny – In the wake of last season’s events, Emily returns from her scary Japanese training just in time for another Hamptons summer. Continuing on her mission to uncover more about the murder of her father and to find out more about what happened to her mother.   • Homeland: The Smile – Months after the dramatic events that prompted Carrie (played by two time Emmy winner Claire Danes) to undergo Electroconvulsive Therapy, the former CIA case officer has found a modicum of peace in her family’s suburban embrace.   • Family Guy: Finders Keepers – Peter and his hilarious, random antics are back for another season. In the premiere episode, Peter elicits Quahog into a frenzied treasure hunt throughout town.   • American Dad!: Steve and Snot’s Test-Tubular Adventure – From the creators of Family Guy, American Dad! kickoffs their season with Steve and Snot scheming ways to lose their virginity on prom night. Since the duo can’t find dates, they use Stan’s cloning machine at the CIA to create their own dates. Tune in to find out if they succeed!   • The Simpsons: Homerland – The Simpsons return to a parody of the hit Showtime show Homeland. Homer has undergone some drastic changes – he’s calmer, he’s considerate, he’s cleaner – after mysteriously being missing and returning home out of the blue. Special guest Kristen Wiig (from SNL) voices a jumpy FBI agent, who tries to discover why Homer seems to have changed since his departure.   • Bob’s Burgers: A River Runs Through Bob – With an ever growing fan base, the fourth season begins with Bob, Linda and the kids going on a camping adventure.
