Tryptophan comas, warm sweaters and plenty of family members crowded around the living room must mean it’s time for Turkey Day!  Here are some ways to get the most from your favorite little black (or purple) box during the holiday weekend:

Thanksgiving might not conjure up as many classic films as other holidays, but here are some fall themed flicks that will please the whole family – even after all the pie is gone. Of course, if you have any suggestions, add them to the comments!

  • Planes, Trains and Automobiles- Steve Martin and John Candy star in this holiday-inspired classic cross-country romp (Amazon Instant Video)
  • Dutch- Ed O’Neill dishes out some life lessons during Thanksgiving break (Netflix)
  • So I Married an Axe Murderer- Mike Myers first flashed his deft skill for showcasing multiple characters in this totally original cult black comedy (Crackle)
  • Alice in Wonderland- Tim Burton’s new twist on this Disney classic is perfect for the kid in all of us (Netflix)
  • Tangled- Disney animators take on the classic Grimm Brothers story of Rapunzel (Netflix)

Drown out the in-laws, put the kids to sleep or set the holiday mood while warming up some apple cider with your favorite holiday music, found in our Channel Store. Channels like Pandora, Live365, and MOG offer a variety of choices – you can even plug in your mp3 player to select Roku players and rock the house.

With more games than ever on the Roku 2 XS, it’s never been easier to entertain a crowd. We’ve just released a bunch of new games that range from new puzzle platforms like Storm in a Teacup to arcade classics like PAC-MAN and Galaga.  You can find out more here.

We wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving.  We’re thankful for all our fans, the new and the not-so-new :0p.

Happy streaming holidays from us here at Roku!
