One year have passed since I decided to quit my office work and I am so happy now… I started doing work on-line, for a company I stumbled upon online, for several hours /a day, and I earn much more than i did on my office job… My last month check was for 9000 bucks… Amazing thing about this job is that now i have more free time to spend with my family… http://chilp.it/8d93f4b

Before I buy a new Roku device, I need to know if Roku will support the new “Directv Now”? AT&T currently is telling us they don’t support Roku.

    • Tampammm

I think they plan to support it at some point. Can I ask you why you prefer DirecTV Now over both the Sling and Vue packages?

      • Lon Green

Tampammm, I currently have Slingtv and it does work well. I am currently paying $31.94 a month (Sling Blue + Hallmark + tax), that gives me a little over 40 channels, channels that I actually watch. Slingtv lags as you scroll through the networks and has large icons for viewing instead of a traditional channel scroll.

I have never tried Vue. I do have an antenna that picks up local channels and I have connected it to a Tablo which has an app for my RokuTV. Having TVs with one remote is the way to go, IMO. With Roku integrating their software in a TV (RokuTV), it makes it easier for us older folk to become cable cutters. TYVM!!

I am also trying Directv Now ($37.28) with an Amazon Stick (which I hate), the Directv Now interface is fast and scrolls like a cable system (which I like). I currently have the 100 channel package. The bad part of Directv Now (besides not working on Roku), is that the only package that offers Hallmark Movies is the lowest tier. If they don’t include Hallmark Movies in my package, this will be the show-stopper for me and I’ll probably end up staying with Slingtv. I’ll see how Directv Now evolves in January. They also seem to have issues with NFL broadcasts, I am sure that part will get fixed or the whole project will fail.

In October 2016, I converted completely over to these type of packages (Sling, VUDU, & Tablo) because I am tired of our cable company games. It is ridiculous for me to have to call every year to negotiate a new rate. I’ve been a loyal customer for 25+ years and they treat me like crap. Plus I had to connect a converter box to every TV, and pay for each one.

Thanks for your interest Tampammm, I hope I’ve answered your question.

Love this except when it starts glitching during ads and gets stuck in endless loops of ads. Took 45 minutes of the ads jumping/resetting back to ad 1 of 5 for it to finally go back to the content. No way to report a problem. REALLY ROKU???? No QC interests or customer retention? Your only advice is to delete channel and reinstall????? Cmon, you can do better

I would love to buy Roku Ultra, but here in the UK they only sell the very old Roku 2 and 3, not to mention the very unreasonable price it has, considering is an extremely outdated product. Very disappointed, I’ll look into the competitors offering.
